Week at a Glance 11-16 to 11-20

There is so much going on this week!
The week is filled with lots of activities and fun.

1st - Bernie's Book Bank
We will be collecting books, K-12, for this drive. As students are looking for new books at the Book Fair, consider donating your gently used old books to the book drive. The grade that collects the most gently used or even new books for the drive, wins a Mystery Prize. Your child can bring in books up through Friday. Please make sure they bring the books to our classroom so we can count them before they go into the bins in the hallway.

2nd - Kipling Book Fair
Kipling is holding their annual Scholastic Book Fair. The students will get to preview the Book Fair on Thursday where they will create a wishlist of books they may want. The list will be on file at the book fair. The book fair is open all day Friday until 7:00pm and on Saturday from 9:00-1:00. Your child's special someone can stop by the Book Fair after their visit to the classroom. Unfortunately, students are not allowed to accompany their special someone to the fair.

3rd - Trex Plastic Film Recycling Challenge
The Kipling Green team, in collaboration with the Kipling Pto Green Committee, will be participating in the Trex Plastic Film Recycling Challenge. We will be competing with schools across America to recycle the most plastic film. This challenge goes from November 15th - April 15th. Your child can begin bringing items on Monday. Items that can be brought in are:
  • grocery bags
  • bread bags
  • case overwrap
  • dry cleaning bags
  • newspaper sleeves
  • ice bags
  • ziploc and other recyclable bags
  • produce bags
  • bubble wrap
  • salt bags
  • cereal bags
4th - Someone Special Day
Friday is our Somone Special Day. Your child can have up to two someone specials come to visit your child and learn a little about what we do. Our time is from 9:45 to 10:15. Please make sure that you fill out the form and send it in as soon as possible so your child's someone special can be added to the check-in list.
