Our First Mystery Reader
Mr. McConnell came into our class last week to be our first Mystery Reader of the year. He read the story "Creepy Carrots." It was very funny. I was so impressed how after only a couple of weeks, the students could identify how the story connected to our first two Leader in Me habits: Be Proactive and Begin With the End in Mind.

Sequencing Events
Students learned about the importance of sequencing events in a story. They also made connections that sequencing matters in other events such as getting ready for school and making a recipe. Students enjoyed working in small groups or with a partner to sequence events from the story we read this week called "Molly Lou Melon."

Math and Measuring
Students have been working on measuring and comparing lengths.
Here students were using non standard forms of measurement: cubes, popsicle sticks and links to measure and compare how long they are.
